SOCIABLE: willing to talk and engage in activities with other people, friendly
As a full time RVer, one can choose to reach out to other travelers they meet along the way or one can choose a more solitary lifestyle. We have been known to choose both. When Don and I are in traveling mode we prefer to keep to ourselves. We like the freedom of moving at our own pace. Of visiting places that are in line with our interests. Of being able to change our minds or our next destination on a whim. But when we are parked in one locale for a substantial amount of time, the more gregarious side of our natures surface. Such is the case here at Seminole Campground.
Seminole is popular with full timers and snowbirds alike. The majority of whom return here to roost in the Winter year after year. Seeing familiar faces, joining in on park outings and activities, gives one a sense of community. People connect, friendships are formed. Such is the case with us. This is our second year of wintering at Seminole and we just recently signed up to return for next season. We have made many friends here, a few we have even hooked up with during our non winter travels. So suffice it to say, our dance cards have been pretty full lately.
Euchre and Bingo. Bike rides and walks. Wildlife sanctuaries and Pirate ship cruises. Campfires and movies. Pitch-ins with musicians and magicians. Chili tasting, wine tasting, beach parties and small group gatherings on patios. Church, shopping and meals out. We join in in celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. Even now as I find a quiet moment to post this, Don is gone fishing. I don’t believe we’ve ever been this active socially since our youngest aged out of travel softball 11 years ago.
My posts may become more infrequent than usual as my quiet times becomes fewer and further apart. But as always at this stage in life, time passes much too quickly and soon we will be back in our reclusive travel mode. Hang with us.
Here’s lookin’ at you kid…………..
