We liked this small campground on the shores of Lake Superior. There are 80 RV sites with both electric & water but only 13 of those also include sewer. The park has 2 tent areas as well.
The favored sites are those on the water but Don & I agree that there really isn’t a bad site in the entire park. All sites are on grass & appeared to be level. Most are open, making satellite connection good.
The park is a popular vacation spot. It seems as soon as a rig pulls out, another rig takes its place. It’s obvious why the lakefront sites are hard to come by & why reservations are recommended.
The beach is nice, mostly sand & best of all its dog friendly. This facility offers free wifi & the connection is excellent. Our Verizon showed 4 bars.
Staff was friendly. The office will supply you with a great map of the area with all the needed businesses highlighted. Munising may be a small town but it sure has a lot to offer.
The campground has a dump station & 2 bath houses. Both are kept cleaned, however the older bathhouse showers have an unpleasant smell. I believe it’s due to a lack of good ventilation.
Another thing we liked about the park was the fact we were allowed to wash our Suite Pea here. Not many parks permit us to do so. We didn’t even have to pay an extra fee for our water usage.
We did find 2 negatives to the camp. First is the road noise from M-28. It wasn’t overly bad but it was noticeable. The second con was several of the campers themselves. Although the posted speed limit is 10 mph, seems there are a lot of travelers who thought they were camped at the Indy 500. You might want to avoid a site on the main road because of that.
We would definitely stay here again.
