Don just wasn’t into the spirit of the season.
Our little 10″ tree wasn’t working for him. “We need a real tree”, said he.
We had a Christmas tradition, (actually Don married into my family’s Christmas tradition), of cutting down a live tree to decorate each year. Obviously, that no longer worked for our present life style.
What to do???
A new Christmas tradition is born!
Don purchased a 2 1/2′ potted evergreen tree, a string of colored lights and a box of miniature ornaments complete with a tree topper.
He now has his “real” Christmas tree and the smell of pine is wonderful.
After the holidays are over, the tree will be planted. This years will be planted at the home of our daughter and son-in-law. This is their first Christmas in their new house. They’ll be able to watch the fir grow for all the years they live there.
We’ve decided to make a live tree each year our new tradition. We’ll plant it, with permission of course, wherever we happen to be at the time.
MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE SUITE PEA!
Here’s looking at you kid………………………….
